DAN PARDUS TOPS ARCA TEST
Dan Pardus, Daytona Beach ARCA driver led a group of 32 ARCA teams testing at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. The testing was
for the upcoming May 20 ARCA EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 100 Race.
Dan and car owner, Jim Gardner, were all smiles on hearing the results. "We knew we were fast and the car felt good all the way around the track," replied
Pardus. Dan posted a time of 30.47 seconds around the 1 1/2 mile oval and a speed of 177.223 mph. "There were a lot of good cars testing today and everyone is working to improve. We think we can find more speed before qualifying next week," commented Dan. Pole qualifying for last year's spring race was won with a time of 30.311 seconds (178.153 mph).
Pardus stated, "We are running the 1999 Monte Carlo that raced in the Winn Dixie 300 at Talladega last fall." "We ran in the top ten most of the race until a late race accident took us out of contention."
Dan noted, "We are always looking for ways to improve." "The team has benefited by the hiring of Larry Moore as team consultant for the season." Larry resides in Satsuma, Florida and has been involved in all forms of Motorsports for four decades, both as a driver and an instructor. He has won races in Super Late Model stocks,
ARCA, and Sprint races. Moore, was car chief for ARCA champion, Tim Steele, for two years including Tim's championship season in 1997. Larry currently operates a racing school and he will drive in several Super Late Model races later this season. "Larry's wealth of talent and experience are a great addition to our team," commented Dan.
Jim Gardner added, 'We have good cars, a top ten driver, a good engine program, a great team and fine sponsors.' 'It is the best time for new sponsors to enter a Motorsports Program as ARCA super speedway races with full TV coverage provide excellent exposure for sponsors.'
