DAN TO START EIGHTH IN EASY CARE 100

Dan Pardus completed his qualifying lap at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in a time of 29.965 seconds recording a speed of 180.210. Qualifying was held Thursday evening, May 18, in preparation for the ARCA Easy Care 100 race that precedes THE WINSTON Saturday night.

Dan was ecstatic about the performance of the team and the car. Talking at the team trailer after the final results were posted, Dan commented, “In afternoon practice, we felt the car just wasn’t  right. We thought it might be a fuel problem, so before qualifying we changed the carburetor, made some adjustments to the springs, taped the nose, and went qualifying without track time to test the changes.”  Dan added, “Going into Turn One, I knew changes were right. The car felt AWESOME. It held the bottom line. Coming out of Turn Two, acceleration was fine. Going into Turn Three is different than One & Two. You must go in smooth or you will scoot the nose. I set down low into Turn Three and the car stuck like glue. It was an easy drive back to the Start-Finish line.”

Dan added, “Our team has jelled around our new team consultant, Larry Moore.  “We have always been a good team. Now we feel we are even better.”

Team owner, Jim Gardner was beaming in the background. “Dan’s right. This was our best run at Charlotte. The crew did a great job.”

Asking Larry Moore how he felt completing the first qualifying run as team consultant. “I’m thrilled to death!” Larry added “I’m having a good time with these folks. Dan’s a working driver. I’m a working driver. We’re having a great time working together.”

In Saturday’s Easy Care100 race, Dan will start along side of Mark Claussner and in front of Kerry Earnhardt. The race starts at 6:00 PM and will be telecasted on the Fox TV Network.
