Irv Continues Recovery at Home ...
(9/11/00) Irv MacDougall,
team manager for Dan Pardus who was injured in a motorcycle accident in
August, is now recovering at home and doing very well. Irv's recovery has
been nothing short of miraculous. If all goes well Irv should be back 100%
in the upcoming months. His plans are to take the rest of the season off and
return to the track for Speedweeks 2001.
Irv and Linda MacDougall
have been a part of Dan's racing career since 1990, providing sponsorship in
his Nascar Dash Series years and even providing shop space to work out of
during the mid 90's. Dan states that without Irv and Linda, he never would
have been able to complete his first full season in the Nascar Goody's Dash
Series.
Not short on emotion...
Dan stated,
"Irv and Linda have been behind me all the way! Regardless of my
struggles, whether learning about chassis, new race tracks, the intricacies
of Nascar, heck, just going 100 laps without crashing and finishing in the
top ten, they believed in me from the start. From my Mini Stock days at New
Symrna Speedway, thru the construction of the #50 Winston Cup Midwest
Transit Racing team as my general manager, Irv has always stood by me. He's
a true competitor and has always been one to accept a challenge. Irv always
keeps people laughing and is a pleasure to be around. To put it shortly, Irv
is a great all-around person who I am proud to be associated with and count
as a true friend. Irv had a saying that "the 'haves' help the
'have-not's'." Life is all about people helping people. No one person
can be successful without the help of others, and it was with the help
of people like Irv and Linda MacDougall, along with Jim and Judie
Gardner, that got me to the Winston Cup series and where I am today. I thank
God for helping Irv through this tough time and am grateful he is still with
us. We really miss him being with the team..."
"Get well soon
buddy!!!"
