OUTDOOR CHANNEL RACING TEAM
ANNOUNCES 2001 SCHEDULE
TEMECULA,
Calif. - Management of The Outdoor Channel, Inc. announced plans to sponsor the #42 car
owned by Jim and Judie Motorsports driven
by Dan Pardus of Daytona Beach, Florida in the ARCA/ReMax Series in 2001.
Pardus will
drive The Outdoor Channel Chevrolet in six races in 2001, all of which are
partnered with Nascar Winston Cup events. The schedule includes Daytona on
February 11, Charlotte (The Winston) on May 19, Michigan on June 9 and July 21,
Pocono on June 16 and July 28, Talladega on October 20 and Atlanta on November
17. The Outdoor Channel will be an
associate sponsor of the #42 car for the remainder of the season.
Outdoor
Channel Vice President Wade Sherman said, “We are very excited about The
Outdoor Channel Racing Team for 2001. ARCA’s popularity is growing fast, and
many of its drivers are graduating to the Winston Cup Level. We believe the
attendance at the ARCA events that are paired with Winston Cup events will be
record setting in 2001. All ARCA raced are televised.
We look forward to joining Dan with the Outdoor Channel Chevrolet in
Victory Lane.”
Pardus
competed in 8 ARCA Races in the 2000 season. He recorded 2 top five finishes and
3 top 10 finishes and was 22nd in points running this limited
schedule. Pardus plans to enter all 25 races scheduled in 2001, and is a
legitimate contender for the points championship.
